Brightpoint Community College is an open admissions institution. You can be admitted if you:

  • Have a high school diploma or the equivalent, OR
  • Are 18 years of age or older and can benefit academically from taking courses at Brightpoint.

If you plan to begin taking classes before graduating high school, please see Dual and Concurrent Enrollment.

Apply for General Admission

  • Applying is free.
  • In order to provide a safe and secure learning environment, the application requires that all new credit applicants verify their identity. You will need access to a computer or mobile device that has a camera in order to provide a real-time photo of yourself (Liveness Check) and upload a photo ID (driver's license, passport, ID card, etc.).
  • You can apply at any time as classes start year-round. Once you apply a college Navigator will help you determine the best start time.
  • You can begin the application and save it to complete later. You must have a personal email address to complete the application.
  • Print your confirmation page when you've finished.

Returning students: If you are starting an application, please make up a new username and password.  Do not use your previous VCCS username or password. If you recently started to reapply and are returning to that application, login with the username and password you made up at that time.

You will receive important information regarding your next steps as a Brightpoint student by e-mail after you submit your application.
