Admission Requirements

Identify Verification: PVCC strives to maintain a safe and secure learning environment for students, faculty, and staff. Therefore, all prospective students must verify their identity as part of the admissions process. Applicants must use a computer or mobile device equipped with a camera to provide a real-time photo of themselves (Liveness Check) and upload a photo ID (e.g., Driver's License, ID Card, Passport).

PVCC has an open admissions policy. You may apply and register for classes if you:

  • Are at least 18 years of age,
  • Or, if younger than 18, you have a high school diploma or GED.

Please follow the steps below.

Admissions Process

  1. Submit an Online Application
    Admission is free. Once you have submitted your application, you will receive a Student ID number and username. Make sure to keep this information for your records.
  2. Apply for Financial Aid
    All degree- and certificate-seeking students are encouraged to apply for financial aid. Financial aid may come in the form of grants, scholarships, loans, or work-study positions. Learn more at www.pvcc.edu/finaid.
  3. Meet with an Advisor
    Make an appointment to meet with an academic advisor or attend an orientation session. Call 434.961.6581 or email admissions@pvcc.edu for assistance.
  4. Register & Pay for Classes
    Register for classes through MyPVCC at www.pvcc.edu/mypvcc. You will need the username and password you received after submitting your PVCC application.
