  • Select your program of study
    This is required when you complete your application, and will help ensure that you get the most financial aid possible. https://sw.edu/catalogs/programs-of-study/
  • Complete the online application via the link below.
    Some programs require additional steps for program entry, so please review the program requirements carefully.
  • Complete the FAFSA for all relevant aid years.
    SWCC’s code is 007260. https://fafsa.gov/
  • Prepare for the Virginia Placement Test.
    Not all programs require this test, and high school graduates may submit transcripts to determine if the test is necessary. In addition, individuals who are 25 or older may have other options for placement.   • Contact your program advisor.
    When you complete the application, you will be assigned to a faculty member who will advise you on course selection, timing and sequence. This relationship is critical for your success. Program advisors can be viewed at the link below, or on your student account information in the Student Information System (SIS-MYSouthwest) once your application is complete. https://sw.edu/catalogs/advisor-listing/
